Tutoring and mentoring
What is the difference between tutoring and mentoring?
Tutoring focuses on subject understanding, practice and assessment preparation. Study mentoring focuses on planning, learning methods, accountability and independence. Some students benefit from one; others benefit from both working from a joined-up plan.
How do I know which support is right?
Tell us what is currently getting in the way. We will help you decide whether tutoring, mentoring or both is the most useful starting point.
Can you guarantee better marks or an ATAR?
No. We support useful understanding, habits and preparation, but do not promise a mark, rank, ATAR, UCAT result, university offer or career outcome.
Matching and tutors
How do you match a tutor or mentor?
We review year level, subject or support need, goals, teaching and communication fit, availability, delivery preference, location and continuity. A person reviews every recommendation before the family begins.
What happens if the fit is not right?
We check in after the first lesson and review the fit again after session three. If the relationship is not working, we will review the match and discuss an alternative where available.
How are tutors and mentors screened?
Practitioners are interviewed and have suitability, subject or support fit, references and required Working With Children Check details reviewed before allocation. Families receive relevant practitioner information when a match is considered.
Will a tutor or mentor contact my child directly?
Only after parent consent and student assent, and only through approved business-controlled channels. Personal social-media contact and undisclosed private messaging are prohibited.
Tutoring
Where is tutoring available?
Online tutoring is available Australia-wide, subject to fit and availability. In-person tutoring may be available in selected Greater Western Sydney locations after we confirm the subject, travel requirements and a suitable tutor.
What does tutoring cost?
Online tutoring is A$55 per 60-minute lesson. In-person tutoring is A$75 per 60-minute lesson. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
What subjects can you help with?
Support is available for selected Mathematics, English, Science, Biology, Chemistry, study-skills and exam-preparation needs. We confirm suitable subject and year-level support before booking.
Study mentoring
What happens each week?
The student reflects on the previous week and upcoming pressures. The mentor helps make the next action clearer, using planning, selected practice or resources where useful.
What do parents receive?
Study Support families receive a fortnightly progress update. Performance Mentoring families receive a weekly update and end-of-term family review. Updates focus on wins, priorities and useful next steps without routinely disclosing private reflections.
What remains private for the student?
Student reflection is treated respectfully and is not routinely copied to parents. Information may be shared when it supports an agreed goal or when safety, legal or boundary concerns require escalation.
Do you diagnose ADHD, anxiety or learning conditions?
No. Mentors and tutors are not psychologists, counsellors or diagnosticians. General educational support is not a clinical assessment or therapy service.
Payments and cancellation
What are the mentoring prices?
Study Support is A$25 per week or A$225 for one 10-week term. Performance Mentoring is A$45 per week or A$405 for one 10-week term. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.
Can a family cancel?
Weekly memberships and prepaid term places may be cancelled with 14 days’ written notice. Tutoring rescheduling and cancellation expectations are confirmed before the first booking is accepted.
What happens if a payment fails?
A failed weekly payment has a seven-day grace period. The parent receives an update request and the account is reviewed before access is paused or removed.
